Choosing your Garry's Mod community

Choose the mode you enjoy, from open-ended sandbox building to structured roleplay or prop hunt. Check addon requirements and community rules before connecting.

  • Game mode: distinguish DarkRP, sandbox, prop hunt, and custom modes so the rules and play session match what you want.
  • Required content: review workshop collections and mounted game content to avoid missing models or unexpected downloads when joining.
  • Community expectations: read roleplay conduct, prop restrictions, job rules, and how moderators handle disputes.

List your community on VoteLadder

  1. Create an owner account, open the server dashboard, and choose Garry's Mod when adding your listing.
  2. Add the public hostname and game port for your Garry’s Mod server. Use server type and tags for DarkRP, sandbox, or other modes, and explain required content in the description. Link your workshop and rules through the website or Discord fields.
  3. Save your listing, review its details in the dashboard, and keep joining instructions and community links up to date.

Voting and integrations

Garry’s Mod owners can use plugin polling, signed webhooks, or Source RCON integrations. Match the delivery method to the addons or server tooling you operate and test it before offering vote rewards.

Players can vote from a public server profile. Check that community’s reward rules separately; a confirmed vote is not a guarantee of an in-game reward.

How VoteLadder Compares Garry's Mod Servers

VoteLadder is built to help players compare Garry's Mod servers by signals that matter before joining: reachability, player activity when available, votes, reviews, tags, and owner-provided community links.

Live status and uptime

Status checks can show whether a listed server is online, how recently it was checked, latency, and uptime samples once enough checks have run.

Measured player activity

When a game probe supports it, player counts come from VoteLadder status checks rather than owner-written listing copy.

Votes and moderated reviews

Votes, monthly vote movement, and approved player reviews help separate active communities from listings that only look busy.

Tags, links, and trust signals

Tags, join addresses, owner links, and trust signals make it easier to scan for the server style and community details players care about.
